Heron?

This is one of my favorite birds, but I’m not sure what kind he is. He was very friendly and hammed it up for my camera.

Nope. The white heron has yellow legs and a tuft on its head. I do believe this is a Common Egret. Quite beautiful. I have never had the pleasure of seeing one. Where did you take the photo?

This photo was taken in Florida. Thanks for the information — they look very similar.

It has a few other names when I looked it up — its also called the Great Egret. It used to be referred to as a white heron confusing it with the Great White Heron. It gets confusing when the critters common names depending on where they are from. Like what is the difference between a mountain lion, puma and cougar?

Colleen is smarter than me. I was just going to call it a white bird with black feet. It is beautiful.
