Life.  We are all in it together.

Perhaps some of you are reading this because you think I will write a sugary-sweet editorial with all of the “answers.” After all, I should be able to offer the secrets to happiness, shouldn’t I?  Well, I think you already know the answer to that question. Life is hard.  Life is tough.  Life is a struggle, and nobody can be happy all the time.  Those are the facts.

The good news is that you can be happy if you choose to be happy.  But that too, is hard work. The question is: why should you be happy? The answer is all around you.

The answer is in the person of the one you are with, when you look deep into your heart and thank God that you have someone with whom you can share your life. The answer is in the smiles of those who you help uplift by doing whatever you can to improve their lives. The answer is in the beauty of the sun as it rises and sets, the majesty of the sea as its surf kisses the shore, and in the eyes of your children. The answer is all around us.

The struggle is worth it.  Do not give up — ever!  And if you feel like you are slipping, here’s my hand.

Perhaps I lied.  Perhaps that was sugary.  Please forgive me.  I am alive and I am in love. Join me.

Wonderful sentiments. Without life’s sad times we are unable to fully appreciate happiness when it comes along.

Not sugary but honest with the sweet ring of truth. Not sugar-coated but positive and encouraging and beautifully written. I popped along to your site after reading a comment you made on the blog of @thegirlwhofearoblivion. I’m glad I popped by – you have not disappointed.
I wish you well with your health and blogging endeavours. 🙂
